It’s hard to believe that our time in the US has ended. What an unforgettable adventure it turned out to be!
Over the past seven months, we explored 21 states across USA, traveling by boat and road, soaking up every moment of this incredible journey. This chapter has been the busiest of our adventures so far, and we’ll always cherish it.
Never Ending Exploring Across USA
Our journey was partially water, covering over 3,400 miles along the East Coast. From the sunny shores of Florida to the misty beauty of Maine, every mile offered something new to discover. We anchored in iconic locations like the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor and explored the vibrant cityscapes of Midtown Boston. We also found charm and tranquility in the villages of Long Island and Maine, and a serene detour through the Chesapeake Bay gave us a chance to embrace nature’s quiet beauty.
Each stop brought a fresh sense of wonder—whether it was a bustling harbor filled with history or a secluded cove where the stars lit up the night sky.
But the adventure didn’t stop at the water’s edge. We also covered over 3,000 miles on three unforgettable road trips:
Florida’s Warmth: Our first trip took us through Florida, where we reveled in the sunshine and discovered its most iconic attractions.
From New York to Chicago and Beyond: The second journey carried us through the bustling streets of New York, the cultural charm of Chicago, and onto Michigan’s farm life. It even included visiting Niagara Falls, extending into Canada for a brief but magical moment.
California’s Iconic Landscapes: Our final road trip led us west to California, where we marveled at the towering sequoias, explored golden beaches, and stood in awe of the breathtaking vistas of Yosemite National Park.
These road trips were more than just miles - they were filled with stories, discoveries, and memories that only come from traveling together as a family.
Moments That Matter
The past months have gifted us countless moments to treasure. We celebrated three birthdays along the way. We explored skateparks and playgrounds with endless energy, indulged in way too much ice cream (is there even such a thing?), and spent countless hours marveling at the natural beauty around us.
From sunsets over cornfields to hikes in the mountains, every day brought something new. We met lifelong friends and were welcomed by strangers who made us feel truly at home. The simple pleasures - like cooking dinner together or jumping into the freezing water - became some of our most cherished memories.
The Land of Endless Possibilities
Before this journey, everything we knew about the US was from movies. Other sailing families had left us unsure of what to expect, but America exceeded every expectation. The parades, the fireworks, the vibrant cities, and the endless beaches - it’s a land where you can truly be whatever you dare to dream. You can live by the ocean, in a bustling city, or on a sprawling ranch. The possibilities are endless, and this adventure reminded us of that daily.
